Product Launch Webinars: 5 Reasons Your Campaign Needs One

Estimated reading time: 5 minutes

Picture this: your clients are so engaged they happily take your calls. You’ve got something shiny and new ready for market, whether it’s specialised equipment, a new service, a property development or a software platform, and you’re keen to take it beyond your existing clients and early adopters. The announcement is out, the newsletter has landed and the social posts are live. Yet the leads are coming in lukewarm, and you’re left wondering how to spark more interest.

Enter the product launch webinar: a live or recorded online session where you introduce a new product, service, or capability to a group of prospects, usually with a presentation, a demonstration, and a Q&A. Webinars have been a B2B marketing staple for years, yet many businesses skip them in favour of one-on-one pitches. Then come the reschedules, the awkward follow-ups, and the quiet prospects. Some people prefer to sit up at the back of the room. Their interest and curiosity are still there; they just like a little time to think before giving an answer.

The question is, are Webinars still effective for B2B marketing in 2026? Absolutely! Buyers rate webinars highly throughout the purchase journey, with 65% calling webinars and digital events valuable when deciding what to buy. Here are five reasons a product launch webinar deserves a spot in your next campaign.

1. Your offering needs to be seen to be believed

Some value propositions are hard to capture in copy, static images, or a 30-second explainer, and even a strong deck can only go so far. A webinar gives your product or service room to breathe, with time to show your audience what makes it work. You could:

  • Take them onto the factory floor to see equipment in action
  • Walk them through a new development from concept to completion
  • Bring in a specialist to unpack how a service works
  • Run a live demo so viewers can see the product at work

Aim for around 35 to 45 minutes. Sessions at that length tend to hold attention and convert better than hour-long formats.

2. High-value investments need more touchpoints in the buying journey

When your offering comes with a high price tag, the B2B journey tends to be long and full of twists. Drawing on Gartner research, Brixon Group reports that B2B buyers go through an average of 27 touchpoints before making a purchase decision, spread across different channels, devices and times. Gartner’s own buying journey research backs this up, showing buyers loop back through six key buying jobs and revisit each one at least once.

Your top-of-funnel marketing has already done its job and people know you’re out there. Every touchpoint is another chance to remind them why you’re worth the investment. And with the typical B2B buying team now made up of nearly 12 people, a webinar puts your offering in front of several decision-makers at once so more than one person walks away convinced their business needs it.

3. A group webinar takes the pressure off prospects

A one-on-one discovery call can put heavy pressure on a prospect, especially when their hesitation comes down to how it would work in their situation. In a group setting, someone else asks the question they might be too shy to raise, and suddenly they know they’re in good company. That social proof lets you sell the value, the idea, and the payoff first, so by the time you make the pitch, your audience already wants what you deliver.

4. On-demand webinars give your content a longer life

Recording your webinar turns one live session into content you can use for months. In 2024, 80% of B2B webinars were made available on demand after the live and 43% of attendees chose to watch on demand in 2025. Your audience can catch up in their own time, and nobody gets stuck with a “you miss it, you missed it” moment.

Here’s how one recording can keep working for you:

  • Host the full session on demand behind a registration form on your website, so it keeps capturing leads long after the live date
  • Cut short clips of key moments, demos, or expert answers for LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Add subtitles to every cutdown so viewers can follow along with the sound off.
  • Feed your email nurture with the replay link and a clip or two in follow-up EDMs to registrants and no-shows.
  • Turn the Q&A into a blog or a FAQ that answers the questions your audience is already asking.
  • Equip your sales team with specific segments to send prospects at the right stage of the buying journey.

When Grappler did their product roadshow, we filmed and hosted their on-demand webinar in our North Sydney Studio, then delivered full video and audio clean-up plus three subtitled social cutdowns. See how it came together in our multi-channel webinar and roadshow case study.

5. Make webinars part of your full funnel strategy

A webinar earns its keep well beyond the live session. Short clips build awareness at the top of the funnel, the live sessions nurtures interest in the middle, and your end-of-session survey hands sales a list of warm leads ready to convert. Together, those touchpoints move people from curious to convinced.

Give your next launch a full house

Remember those lukewarm leads? A product launch webinar gives them a reason to warm up. Your offering gets room to shine, several decision-makers hear the same story at once, the quiet ones at the back get their questions answered, and one recording keeps working for your sales team long after the live sessions ends.

Before you ‘hit’ record, start with the story. Know who you’re speaking to, what they need to hear, and the one idea you want them to leave with. Get that right and everything from the run sheet to the recut falls into place.
